Bio: Janine Kaye is the Manager of Interoperability Engagement at the Canadian Institute for Health Information. In her role, she and her team are responsible for working with many different stakeholder groups who have an interest in CIHI’s Connected Care work. They are always happy to work with others advancing interoperability and discuss ways to increase adoption of data content standards. Janine has over 2 decades of experience in health information and digital health including data governance, master and reference data management and business intelligence. She is a volunteer faculty member with Digital Health Canada’s and chair of the CPHIMS-CA exam development committee.
Description: CIHI is working to help advance Connected Care: a more coordinated, data-driven system where accurate health information flows securely and easily between care providers. This is interoperability in action — the ability for different systems, organizations and technologies to exchange and use health information. We’re doing this by co-designing national standards with people and partners across the country and helping everyone take the next steps to adopt them.
CIHI’s products – the Pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework and Canadian Core Data for Interoperability (CACDI) - will help ensure jurisdictions and health system vendors can define and collect health information in the same way and help it flow freely and securely for the benefit of all who live in Canada.
This presentation will provide an overview of CIHI’s Connected Care products and some of the next steps the project team is working on to be sure that they can be implemented consistently across the country.
