The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential, professional counseling services to help resolve problems that affect your personal life and may affect work performance.
- The program is completely voluntary and confidential.
- Services are available to individuals, couples, immediate family members and retirees.
- The decision to participate in EAP must always be voluntary.
- Using the EAP does not affect your present job or your opportunities for future jobs.
- There is no cost for employees to use the EAP program.
Am I eligible to apply for EAP?
The EAP program is available to:
- all probationary and permanent employees, including casual and contract employees, with six months continuous service
- spouses and dependents (age 16-24) residing with the employee;
- retirees of Health PEI, all provincial government departments, other agencies and commissions, and the regional education and health boards
EAP offers assistance in the following areas:
- relationship difficulties
- bereavement, grief and loss
- anxiety, stress and depression
- work related stress
- family/parenting/eldercare Issues
- alcohol and substance abuse
- work/life balance
- legal and financial stress
- life transitions

Is there a fee to apply for EAP?
There is no cost to you or your immediate family members.
What are the benefits of EAP?
- EAP benefits everyone. Employees get help with problems that can/are affecting work, family, and their well-being.

- Early use of the program can contribute to the prevention of serious problems for the individual employee, family, and the employer.
