Hi everyone,
As you may be aware, the situation at the Summerside Sunbank Solar Farm has now transitioned from an active fire response to enhanced monitoring, and the voluntary Shelter in Place advisory has been lifted.
Over the past few days, Health PEI teams have remained focused on what matters most: supporting the safety and well-being of our patients, residents, clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors while ensuring continuity of care for Islanders.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to our response. Across Health PEI, teams adapted quickly to changing circumstances, supported one another, and remained committed to delivering safe, high-quality care. Your professionalism, flexibility, and dedication ensured we were ready to respond while continuing to meet the needs of Islanders.
Incidents such as this remind us of the important role we play in our communities and the strength of our people. I am proud of how our teams came together, supported one another, and remained focused on caring for Islanders throughout this event.
While emergency officials will continue to monitor the site as a precaution, the active response has concluded. Should circumstances change, we will provide updates as needed.
