It is not good enough just to talk about change, study change, and write reports om change. Leaders have to act to create change.

Description:

  • Actively contribute to change processes that improve health service delivery.

Abilities:

  • Leaders create change through their actions, embracing multiple strategies and tactics to keep things moving.

This is shown by having:

  • Staff information and resources required to make the changes.
  • The ability to identify and move in line with inertia as well as supportive elements of culture.

The Practices and Skills may include:

  • Assess staff / workplace culture.
  • Able to communicate the vision and approach to change.
  • Multi-faceted approaches, including early wins to achieve momentum.
