Note from Michael, Feb. 22, 2022 | Wear pink for Pink Shirt Day Feb. 23

From the desk of Dr. Michael Gardam, Health PEI CEO

Hi Everyone:

Tomorrow, Feb. 23, is Pink Shirt Day, when people come together by wearing pink to work or school to stand up against bullying.

This year's theme is Lift Each Other Up, with a focus on embracing diversity, respect, acceptance, and inclusion for everyone.

I encourage all Health PEI staff to wear pink tomorrow to signify our strong stance against bullying and our support of diversity and inclusion. These are priorities for our organization and crucial to improving our work culture.  We are working every day to ensure the psychological safety of staff and to bring in the training and institutional changes needed to improve diversity and inclusion within Health PEI.

Change will take time, but I know we will make great strides together.

Please send questions, comments, or submissions for these notes to emclean@gov.pe.ca, subject line “Notes for Michael”.
