Where to mask
As of October 10, universal masking is mandatory for all direct patient care. Wear a surgical mask when within two meters of any patient/resident or client. For more information, see the CEO memo.

These tiny patients are strong and resilient, but making sure that I am vaccinated and masking around them helps to protect them and let them focus on getting bigger to be home with their families! I also do it to protect my friends and family (especially their children). Lots of reasons why I get my flu and covid shots, but I think the biggest one is that I really worry about people in my family and community who are older or who have other health issues and I really wouldn’t want to be the one to pass it along and maybe make someone more sick than I would be with either. I get vaccinated and wear a mask because the scientific evidence supports that it is our collective best defense. The vaccine supports building immunity to fight COVID 19 and masking reduces the spread of aerated bugs in the atmosphere. It protects me and the vulnerable people we see in healthcare settings! Sidebar: When I was having my babies - antivaccination propaganda was very much a thing. Working in the health field and having the benefit of working in relationship with specialists, I asked an Infectious Disease Specialist for an opinion. After this short discussion on the science that supports vaccinating - I was sold! Get vaccinated because it is your best defense! Wear a mask because it protects yourself and the vulnerable people we care for in health! - Eileen Larkin |
I get my flu and COVID shots and wear a mask not just because it's required, but because I love my family and friends. I want to protect them from illness and keep them safe. I also love the place I now call home—Prince Edward Island—and I want to do my part in keeping the community healthy. I understand that my vaccines can help reduce the spread of these diseases, even if it's just in a small way. That's why I make sure to book my flu and COVID vaccines in advance—so I can stay healthy and protect the people around me. It’s all about taking responsibility and showing care for those I care about. - Nancy Cante |
