What years of service will be recognized?
Recognition milestones will include 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 years and beyond, if applicable.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Recognition is based on your date of permanent hire and continuous service within the calendar year (January 1 - December 31).
For example:
- In October 2025, we will celebrate milestones achieved in 2024. This means if you were hired in 2023, you would have achieved your 1-year milestone in 2024, so you will be recognized in 2025.
- If you were hired in 2025, you will achieve your 1-year milestone in 2026 and will be recognized in 2027.
- If you were hired in 2020, you will achieve your 10-year milestone in 2030 and will be recognized in 2031.

When will I be recognized for my years of service?
All recognition will happen in May, the year after the milestone is achieved.
How will I be recognized?
Years 1 – 15:
- Recognition will be delivered at the department level, led by our Health PEI Leaders.
Years 20+:
- Honourees will be celebrated at Health PEI-hosted regional events. Leaders will accompany their team members to these special gatherings.
- 2025 Event Schedule (4:00pm – 6:00pm):
Monday, October 6 – Summerside, Credit Union Place
Tuesday, October 14 – West, Mill River Resort
Monday, October 20 – Charlottetown, Delta Prince Edward
Monday, October 27 – East, Rodd Brudenell River Resort
- If you are celebrating a milestone of 20+ years, you and your leader will receive an invitation to the event in your region from Christine Handrahan.
- These celebration events are exclusive for Health PEI staff. Light refreshments will be provided.
