Some of you may be receiving emails from the public about concerns raised about physician departures in the media and the concerns about HPEI’s implementation of the Physician Services Agreement (PSA) Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) for Family Medicine. For your reference, attached is a fact sheet [PDF] that provides details on the activities Health PEI has taken in conjunction with the Medical Society of PEI (MSPEI) and the Department of Health and Wellness with the Government of PEI to implement the MOA and PSA, and also to address concerns raised.
Please note that Health PEI respects the role that MSPEI plays in representing Physicians, and we work to abide by the tri-party agreement, but also to recognize individual circumstances where we can in the implementation. We respect and value the contributions of all of our staff and providers.
